YCEE AND BELLA ALUBO RELEASE EMPATHY VIDEO

Published

on

Nigerian rapper and songwriter YCEE has released a video for ‘EMPATHY’ alongside his label mate Bella Alubo. The two acts are currently signed to Tinny Entertainment.

‘EMPATHY’; which was released January 29th, 2018, is one of six off the joint EP by YCEE and Bella Alubo, called Late Night Vibrations.

The video shot in London and directed by Visionnaire, takes fans back to the 90s with the vintage and colorful aesthetics displayed. ‘EMPATHY’ is a blend of your favorite love songs and break up songs in one. The video shows both YCEE and label mate in two different relationships going through different situations that feel like one person no longer understands the other. Emotions are shown from good times to misunderstanding to reconciliation.

Fans are currently still loving the collaboration between YCEE and label mate Bella Alubo, and the release of ‘EMPATHY’ clearly strengthens their working relationship.

About YCEE

YCEE (popularly known as Jagagban) is an African Pop artiste born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He got involved with music at an early stage. Listening to Hip-Hop greats such as Drake, Kanye West and Lil Wayne, greatly influenced the rapper’s writing and drive to become a musician professionally.

He got his first major shot in 2012, bagging a record deal with Tinny Entertainment as the first artist to be signed by the label. His first single ‘Smile on Me’ was released later that year and was followed by two more singles – ‘Pass Me’ and ‘Amen’ in 2013. All the while, recording and honing his skills as a recording and performing artiste.

YCEE returned in 2015 with several monster hits including ‘Condo’ which featured Patoranking, ‘Jagagban’ remix featuring Olamide and ‘Omo Alhaji’. The hot trail of chart topping releases earned him various nominations at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards including: All Africa Music Awards and the MTV Africa Music Awards. He picked the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award at the 2015 edition of Headies. He also earned nominations in the ‘Best Collaborations of the Year’ and ‘Best Music Video of the Year’ categories at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

2016 was a great year for the young rapper. He released a hot Rap record ‘Su Mi’ in 2016, produced by his older brother, Beats By Karma (BBK): performed at the 2016 edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards; teamed up with South Africa’s DJ Maphorisa on the remix of hit single ‘Omo Alhaji’. He embarked on a successful Pan-African media tour across 5 countries in the East, West and South Africa. Later that year, Tinny Entertainment sealed a deal with Sony Music Entertainment for the release of YCEE’s debut EP titled ‘The First Wave’. ‘Link Up’ featuring Reekado Banks was the first offering of the EP and was released in December 2016, the same month YCEE held his first concert series tagged ‘YCEE & Chill’.

YCEE kicked off 2017 with the first ever UK tour, which included a debut on BBC 1Xtra as a co-host on the Destination Africa Show with DJ Edu. His performance as a co-host on that day earned him an invitation from BBC Radio 1Xtra, this time the host of the Destination Africa show, filling in for DJ Edu; where he premiered his monster hit ‘Juice’ featuring Maleek Berry. ‘Juice’ was later released as the lead single off ‘The First Wave EP’, which dropped on April 7th 2017. ‘Juice’ has dominated charts all over till now, with over 15 million YouTube views and earned the most played song on Nigeria Radio for more than 8 weeks.

Earlier in 2018, YCEE started the year in a very successful way. He had his first ever headlined concert on the 12th of January; in London; with top Nigerian Entertainers that performed like Wizkid, Falz, Basketmouth, Eugy, Bella and a host of others. He wrapped up his London concert and dropped a new single, ‘Say Bye Bye’ featuring Eugy which was premiered on BBC 1Xtra.

(NSNS) frontier, CDQ unlocks the remix of his smash hit single titled “Onye Eze 2.0“, featuring the rave of the moment Zlatan. After serving us with a new song ‘Onye Eze‘ earlier this month based on Blessing Okoro’s house incident with Igbo businessman, Onye Eze.

CDQ tags this remix – Onye Eze (2.0) as Zlatan brings in the Zanku vibe to the ready made song. It now gives its a dance vibe to Gbe Body. CDQ and Zlatan show they are the balling guys that roll with the Bigger boyz and International Igbo business men.
